The idea of Link in Soul Calibre makes me feel funny, especially when the announcer on the commercial growls, "Link joins the fun." Taking aside the weirdness of crossing over video game characters to begin with (especially across RPG/arcade lines), I don't think this is appropriate in any form. Link is a noble figure, fighting monsters because he has to; he doesn't fight for fun, and he shouldn't be made to. I imagine they captured Link and are forcing him to fight, prisoner-gladiator style.

That makes me feel funny.

I agree, it is a foolish thing (i was bombarded by commercials for this whilest watching cable TV in the cheapest hotel EVER).

"Because he has to"? C'mon, thousands of Hyrule Octorocks died in my home when he was just traversing the countryside trying to burn down every tree he found. The little dude's a menace.
