Baby-sitters Club Animals

In the new-to-me Baby-sitters Club book I'm reading, narrator Claudia informs us she will introduce the baby-sitters by explaining what animal they would be. Kristy, for example, would be a dog, because she is loyal and hardworking. I was interrupted before I got to read what the rest of them would be, so I don't know yet, but

Kristy ... a dog, because she is loyal and hardworking (given)

Mary Anne ... a cat, because I suspect those that have animals will be given those animals, but also because she is clean, solitary, and likes yarn

Claudia ... human, because she is capable of creating representational art and moral reasoning (remember, Claudia is the narrator here!!)

Stacey ... a mink or otter, because of her glossy coat

Dawn ... a dingo, because she is cute, but she bites, and you will never, ever tame her

Mallory ... a mole, because she has poor vision and prefers to stay in her burrow

Jessi ... a honeybee, because she communicates by dancing

Logan ... an ox, because he is strong and dependable but also somewhat slow on the uptake

Shannon ... a honeybee, because she serves a valuable function but has a powerful sting

What do you think?? I think I am probably not correct, especially since I said multiple people were bees.

Wasn't Mary Anne the timid, shy one? I would guess mouse or something.

I agree that Claudia (and everyone else on the list) is most like a human, but I don't think Claudia would go for that! Creative types are always like, "Oh, I really identify with wolves" or whatever. Claudia is a MAGPIE because she likes to make beautiful piles of shiny forks.

You're right. Claudia is definitely attracted to shiny objects. Maybe she is a squirrel, because she hides food.

Good point on Mary Anne too. She might also be a turtle, since she hides in her shell.

I can't believe I forgot Claudia hides food! When I was in 2nd grade I thought that was the coolest thing ever and attempted to implement a similar system in my own room. Unfortunately the candy obtaining-and-hiding/candy eating rates were not in sync at ALL, so it didn't really work out.
