So, apparently despite doing everything in their power to convince us that we were on our way to hawaii, including sending us an itinerary reminder the day of, expedia never booked our flights. the airline had never heard of us, and when we called, the customer service rep was just like, "Oh, how about that. Well, at least we never billed your credit card!" Thanks, that helps a lot - it's not like we had paid for accomodations there, which are too late to cancel, or buying tickets the day of is four times as much, or anything.

So, anyway, I'm now on the Bolt Bus from Boston to New York. Guess I can go to work tomorrow?
