I got back from Boston and my apparently relatively clean kitchen was for some reason overrun with fruit flies. I spent two hours last night cleaning the kitchen from top to bottom, throwing out all potentially breached food and bottles and redoing the dishes in the drainer since they had been walked on and also sprayed with Windex by me in a fit of rage. I poured a cup of bleach in each drain, and set out traps of apple cider vinegar spiked with dish soap, but they do not seem to caught many flies. But I don't know of anything that would catch more flies than vinegar!
