I forgot to mention that before our Halloween party, Anna and I were wondering what we were going to do if we needed games at our party, because we'd been unable to get our hands on a copy of Taboo. We ended up mostly playing Apples, but we came up with two quick party game solutions.
1. Since all we really needed for Pictionary, besides paper and pens, was some way to feed random hard-to-draw concepts to players, I found a list of English idioms on a page for ESL students and threw together a super-quick random prompt chooser. (Warning: I didn't do a lot of checking of the data (my time limit for this project was about ten minutes and, anyway, I wanted to be surprised), so some of the concepts may be IMPOSSIBLE to draw.)
2. The same solution wouldn't work for Taboo, since you'd need to spend some time actually populating the database with guess-words and forbidden words. I had an idea for maybe you could do it with a random word out of the thesaurus, but actually, it turns out people have already lots of Taboo-style cards with guess-words and forbidden words online for free! Here's the one we used: http://www.playtaboo.com/playpage.php
And there's always Charades.
