This morning as I sat on the bus reading Master and Margarita, I noticed my seatmate had a well-worn copy of Crime and Punishment. English translations, sure, but still. I sort of wished some kind of Russian Literature Commission could have taken a snapshot of us.
(The RLC might have been more proud if he had had the book open, and had not been listening to, according to his Ipod screen, The Beatles. And if I had not spent so much time examining my seatmate's possessions. And if he had been awake.)
ETA:
Anna: when did you get M&M?
me: yesterday
me: I had to buy something at borders other than twilight conversation hearts
