This is based on a photograph of a 19th century Vaudeville strongwoman called Charmion. (See here for the original, about 1/4 of the way down the page.) I love her because she's coy, demure, and totally proud of her sweet biceps. Bodybuilders of the pre-steroids era are so superior to today's models; instead of harsh, vany, inhuman ridiculousness in a bikini, they were all beautiful Greek-statue curves. Maybe the poor film quality helps, too.
