Dear Andrew Davies,
Stop wasting your time remaking Brideshead, which cannot be improved upon given the source material, because the book kind of sucks, but the original mini has Jeremy Irons and Anthony Andrews, who are totally perfect; and instead make an updated miniseries of the Pallisers. Which in its original mini also has Jeremy Irons and Anthony Andrews, granted, and I don't think Susan Hampshire and Philip Latham's performances can really be improved upon, but as a whole the thing could stand to be speeded and drama'ed up in the modern style, and for the supposed-to-be-beautiful characters to be more beautiful.
No need to thank me,
Laura
Dear whoever does the casting once Andrew Davies agrees to the above / the actors of the UK,
Cillian Murphy as Phineas Finn. HE IS BEAUTIFUL AND IRISH OKAY. He could use his real accent! It's perfect!
Use Anna Massey too. She could be Lady Midlothian or something.
I'm not particular about the rest but if you found roles for Jeremy Irons, Anthony Andrews, Hugh Dancy, Alan Rickman or Gillian Anderson, I would probably die of sheer delight. Also you could do worse than Matthew McFadyen for Burgo Fitzgerald, but perhaps that's typecasting?
Anyway,
Love,
Laura
