I keep seeing these posters at the subway stop for a PDA/phone thing which boasts the cutting-edge development of a full QWERTY keyboard. The headline for one is something like "Never type Ssn's Grtngs again". I guarantee that nobody has ever typed "Ssn's Grtngs", ever. Aside from the fact that simply removing the vowels in a fairly consonant-heavy phrase is a lame attempt at shorthand, I'm pretty sure no individual not representing a corporation has ever wished another individual "Season's Greetings." The image to accompany this is a PDA/cell phone with the new, improved e-mail. From memory:

RE: Season's Greetings
Don't eat all the turkey this year! Ha ha! Save some turkey for the rest of us!
Gordon
This Gordon sounds like a prince. I'm so glad he was able to get across his entire message.
The other poster shows Gordon's Christmas list. This is also from memory but I am pretty sure it is 100% accurate.

RE: Wish list
48-inch LCD HDTV
That blue sweater
Cookbook
Travel bag
Here's my question. Who is this wish list for? Yeah, yeah, Santa, but seriously. The first entry is all right; obviously he's not going to get his HDTV, but you can't blame a guy for trying, and if anyone did want to get it for him, they'd have enough information to go on. The rest is just poor wishlisting. You can't put "that blue sweater" on your wish list unless it is a wish list entirely for someone you once went sweater shopping with, who has a really good memory for sweaters. "Cookbook" is also too vague; what kind of cookbook? Any particular nationality? Any dietary restrictions? What level of recipe simplicity? What cookbooks does Gordon already have? "Travel bag" is all right, I guess, but I'd like to know how long trips he needs the bag for.
In short, I don't feel I have enough information to buy Gordon a Christmas--sorry, Seasonal--present. What do you guys think, should I go off-list?
