Oregon - where she shot a man through the head!
California - She began her cross-country journey with Paul Montague in San Francisco, where she has a reputation for being a scary lady.
Kansas - Where she and her husband divorced!
Texas (backwoods, 500 miles from Galveston) - where her husband died! (Actually, she may not have been there at all, but presumably she went at some point to confirm his death if nothing else.)
New York - Lived here temporarily before and after journeys to England. Paul visited her and renewed his declarations of love.
